Mantra of Persistence - Linked attribute change
It increases the duration of Illusion magic Hexes, yet it's linked to Inspiration magic.
Why can't it be linked to Illusion magic? It's different from the other Mantras, too, because the other Mantras (of Flame, Frost, etc) reduce damage from elemental attacks, so I don't think it'd make much sense for those to be linked to their respective Ele damage mitigations, but for Mantra of Persistence...why shouldn't it be linked to Illusion? Granted, at 0 Inspiration, it's still a fairly good duration buff, but still. What if a Mesmer wants to go Illusion/Domination and wants a really nice Illusion Hex duration buff?
Petition is for Mantra of Persistence to be changed from Inspiration-based to Illusion-based.

That's absurd - the reason it's in a separate attribute is the same reason theat the damage boosting preparations for bows are not in marksmanship.
The same reason that the skill that sends damage to the necromancer to his minions is in blood. The same reason that Practiced Stance (a crappy skill) is an elite. Balance.
If it were in illusion it would be one-stop shopping. 16 iluusion would give you maximum duration without it and with it. Free boost to duration. No thanks, I play mesmer, I play illusion even sometimes but that's just ludicrous.

Have you ever heard of read the wind? Granted its not the most poweful damage boosting prep around, so maxing out marksmanship won't outdamage kindle arrows, but it is marksmanship.
I agreee though, if it were illusion, there would no reason not to use it, because it would be so powerful with no disadvantage. Instead, do a little calculating and see how long each lasts if you drop your illusion down and put points into inspiration. It is still worth it I think you will see. Especially considering most of illusion is about duration as it is.

Not quite the same league as 80% longer hexes to be honest.
